My Love of The Skirted Roundtable

from The Skirted Roundtable

The Skirted Roundtable, created and presented by Megan Arquette, Linda Merrill and Joni Webb, has become an invaluable oral history with "creatives" working today.

Each of The Gals have established blog empires followed by nearly a gazillion people and their pets.  (In my case the family is also following - but more by association than interest.)

I have listened to their extensive list of interviews four times, top to bottom!  At this point I may tend to anticipate the information, but on several occasions I have drawn "new" insight to solutions I am seeking for my Design life.

Martyn Lawrence-Bullard via The Skirted Roundtable

The most recent interview with Martyn Lawrence-Bullard is as FABULOUS, as He.  On Friday I happened to put myself infront of Martyn and kind-a fired him up from his book signing routine when I mentioned how much I enjoyed his time on SRT.  I followed with, "Was that you making the eating and drinking sounds in the background?"  (now imagine hearing the most artful rolling English accent) He smiled (wow! that smile!) and said, "Not at all.  I thought our Skype interview was going to be seen by everyone.  I had my desk arranged.  I was dressed.  And I even lit the area! (his hand gestured over his shoulder)  Though, when I realized that one of them was eating, I did pour a glass of wine!"  (I think I heard that too...)  Why not?  I enjoy listening to SRT while making dinner, and having a glass myself - it's the best!

Cheers!  Linda

  1. Hi Linda - thank you so much for this lovely post and your comment! I couldn't help but wonder what was going on in Martyn's office - there was a lot of moving furniture scaping noises in the background. But when I stopped recording and asked everyone to sit still - it didn't stop! So, oh well.

Hello! Your comments are the interaction I look forward to while writing my posts.
Cheers! Linda
